**Michael Perkins & "Rick" St. Louis Metropolitan P.D.
Rick located a 1st degree Assault perpetrator after intensive searches
of several area of a building. After knocking the perpetrator down,
second subject began to fight with Officer Perkins. Rick came to
his aid by biting the subject. The first subject tried to run from
the scene but, Rick's bite prevented him from leaving. Both subjects
were arrested.

Ceazar has won this category again for the unprecedented, third year in a row. We have never had a K-9 win a category three years in a row. This past year he responded to 192 requests by local law enforcement agencies, the FBI, DEA, US Postal Inspection Service, and ATF. He performed 764 searches; 58 of these investigations were prosecuted at the federal level. His numerous searches yielded $985,000 in marijuana, $ 696, 000 in cocaine, $1200 in heroin, $300 in methamphetamines and he located $1,664,135 in drug tainted US Currency. Ceazar also responded to 52 search warrants. Ceazar is truly one of the most outstanding drug dogs that we have ever had in our area.

Zito was called upon at the end of a full day of work to assist in the evidence recovery from a robbery. The robbery was not reported immediately by the Pizza delivery man who was robbed and threaten by a man with a gun and hammer. After tracking a while, Zito laid down, his handler thought that he might be tired after working a full day. However, Zito was indicating that he had found the gun, he found the hammer about 100 feet later on the track. Fingerprints from the 2 pieces of evidence, lead to the arrest of the perpetrator.

This is the second category .which Zito has won this year. On an afternoon at 4:00 when dangerous thunderstorms were threatening, Zito was requested to search for a missing 3 year old. After searching the area around the apartment complex, Zito began to search a construction area with large holes and 6 foot deep trenches. In a deep trench, Zito found the little boy and 2 other small children playing. After the children were retrieved from the trench, they got to play ball with Zito
5. PROTECTION
**Joseph Dobbs "Indoe" St. Louis Metropolitan P.D.
While the details of this nomination can not be released at this time,
since the case is still pending. Surfeit to say, the Officer Dobbs
was attacked after Indoe tracked a subject who eventually fired a gun at
Officer Dobbs. Indoe came to his handler's aid by gripping one arm
and eventually tearing off the subject's shirt and pants. The injured
Officer was down when other officers arrived. Indoe protected his
handler by laying atop his handler, acting as a shield.
